FORM OF COOL TOUR
It seems all the hard work is paying off for the lovable boys of Form of Rocket. They just finished their next record, titled, Lumber and are set to kick it off with an amazing release show and an even more amazing tour. Fans will be able to embrace these boy toys and celebrate their new record on August 1st at Bricks. Also playing will be The Locust, New Transit Direction, Hella, and Rah Brahs. So mark that on your calendars folks. Immediately following said show, the crew will hit the road for nearly a month with 18 Visions, A Static Lullaby, and Strung Out. The tour plans to take them through the Midwest, up to New York. For more information, check their wiggidy website, www.FormOfRocket.com.

WARPED TRANSIT DIRECTION(s)
The New Transit Direction has returned home from their Warped Tour dates and the reports are smashing. Sources indicate that the band did extremely well in merch sales. They are, however, considering a new color for their van (which is currently jet black) due to heat conduction extremes. Okay, so I made that last part up, but they did say their van was hot. I suggest an off-white. Perhaps a crème?

WHAT’S UP WITH STARMY?
From what we can gather here at the TRS offices, Starmy has secured a new drummer by the name of Ryan Mills. When Ryan is not playing drums, he enjoys such activities as lawn darts, internet romance chat rooms, and downing tall boys. He is sure to add to the band as they continue to shoot for the stars with continued major label interest/showcase potential. In addition, the band has recalled their interest in adding a second guitarist, at least for now. As a side note, Mills also brings a wealth of knowledge regarding women to the band. As of now, they are all officially chick magnets.

BRANDEN FROM THE USED IS PRODUCING
Okay, so that title wasn’t that interesting, but I couldn’t figure anything clever out. My apologies. It was, however, rather factual, and thus I continue… Branden, the famed drummer of Orem rockers, The Used has taken up the role of producer. Currently, he’s producing Provo’s The Eyeliners in the formerly-known-as June Audio studios in Provo.

BRANDEN FROM THE USED IS DOING A VENUE
Again, my apologies for a less-than-creative headline. But the fact remains the same, it’s true. Branden, the famed drummer of Orem rockers, The Used is currently developing plans for a large-scale venue in Orem to bring more touring bands to our little state. He has the funds to back it, but more importantly, the connections with bands and bookies alike to make it fly. We’ll keep you posted.

GUITAR CENTER IN PROVO?
Apparently Guitar Center is opening a Provo location sometime next year. Best get your job applications in now! Rumor has it that the Ogden location is going to close its doors in exchange. Although the upper management of the corporation failed to go on record, they did say something about the devil.

THE MAD MAN CHRONICLES
Are cool. Very cool.

This, my friends, ain’t no joke. Our very own, Matt Crane will soon be launching his full-scale informational website. As we all know, Matt has proven to be more than an inspiration to this little community, but has kept most of us up late at night, pondering our own existence. Features will include pictures, a showercam, and of course, daily updates. Since we’re on the topic of Mr. Crane, I’d like to correct some information that was included in the last Flyer. It has come to our attention that Matt has in fact, NOT done it. Ladies. That’s your green light.

F9 FACTION MOVES ON
Apparently the whole F9 Faction movement is catching on as the group is now planning to extend their services to the Denver and Vegas areas. For those of you who are not familiar with the idea, it’s basically nine bands and a bunch of beer and bikini team girls. Classic.

SALTLAKERECORDS.COM WANTS YOUR RECORD
It’s true. They told us themselves. For more info ask them. info@SaltLakeRecords.com.

DIFFUSER’S NEW ALBUM
Diffuser’s new record, “Making the Grade” came out this month. If you get the chance, check it out. Rockathon.

DAY TWO CD RELEASE SHOW
Finally, Day Two is releasing their CD. The show is slated for July 12th at DV8 (formerly known as Club X Scape, which was formerly known as DV8). The show will be upstairs with appearing guests, The Contingency Plan, Take The Fall, and Agang. Should rule.

THE BRODECKS OF CLEARFIELD ARE GOING PUBLIC
Here, read this submission: “The Brobecks out of Clearfield UT Just signed on with ShoShinProductions of SLC. They have been one of Utah's best kept secrets, and have now decided to go a little more public.” They should seriously thank the guy who told them that “going a little more public” is a good idea. Be on the lookout folks.

WAIST DEEP’S NEW RECORD
Waist Deep has been recording their new record and it should be out soon, if not already. Be sure to check it out. Or be sure to visit MattCrane.com and check out his showercam and then check out Waist Deep’s record. Or whatever.

HELLO BASS PLAYERS?
After successfully dissing yours truly on the bass player try-outs, Hello Amsterdam has secured a full-time bassist. At this point, I don’t think it’s public privileged, so I’ll keep my trap shut. Just check out www.HelloAmsterdam.net for more.

THE GREAT DESMO DEBATE OF 2003
Okay, so we at the TRS offices can’t seem to uncover the truth behind the great Desmo conspiracy of late. So, let’s see if you can help us. Here are a series of e-mails from different people (in chronological order) that I’m going to present as evidence. Put your jury hats on.

E-mail one: “The status of Desmo is unknown at the present time. About 6 new songs have been tracked and are being mixed, however, there are no future plans at the present time. The band has not decided to break up, or make this a prolonged hiatus. The reason for this downtime or breakup or whatever it turns out to be is the departure of 2 members for MBA School.”

E-mail two: “On desmo, Josh (milo) and Jaxn are starting a new band. I've forgotten the name but he mentioned it in the classified section (when he tried to sell his bass stuff). Apparently they (desmo) recorded some newer stuff, but I have no idea if it will ever come out.”

E-mail three: “Me being good friends with the band I know a little more than I should. Jason and Mel are going to business school. Jaxn and Milo have a new band they are working with, new bass player is Brad from Mingus. Desmo is in the studio making their last record then off to school they go. That is straight from the band themselves.”

E-mail four: “More news about Desmo, Jason and Mel have decided they are staying and Desmo is getting to work again. Right now they are in the studio recording the new record.”

E-mail five: “First off, I hear DESMO is in fact no more. I know the drummer and was told some stuff to the extent of irreconcilable differences between the singer and the rest of the band.”

And there you have it folks. The complete Desmo Conspiracy Chronicles. We are baffled. Are they still a band? Are they not? Are they sort of a band? Are they sort of not? The world my never know.

CONCLUDING THIZZOUGHTS
Wow, that was a lot, wasn’t it? I’m sorry if I missed anything, but as usual, if you want your gossip spilled to the world, you’ve got to submit it. The place to do said submission is on the main page of TRS where it says, “Submit your gossip HERE.” I’m currently being prodded with a night stick and being instructed to go back to the coal mines for my evening shift. With continued good behavior, I’ll be back in the Great Salt Lake by mid July. Pray for me friends, pray for me.

With love and a wooden sword/battle ax conversion kit,
S2j
